Using FPTI in a Group Chat

FPTI was written for group chats. That is also where it goes wrong. This is a field guide for using the quiz as a shared language instead of a new way to be mean.

Run it as a round, not a trial

The cleanest format is simple: one person takes it live or drops a finished card, then others join if they want. Do not demand that the quiet member perform a personality. NPC energy in real life includes the right not to play.

Put the homepage test link in the chat once. Pin it if your app allows pins. Repeating “take the test” every ten minutes is its own red flag, and it is not one we listed on a type page.

Compare bars, not costumes

The funny part is the name. The useful part is the chart. A chat that only trades archetypes will crown a main character and exile an NPC. A chat that says “your Drama is 80 and mine is 40” can talk about who is doing the emotional translation work.

If two people share a type, force the comparison onto the quiet dimensions. That is where they are not actually the same.

Jokes that stay on the right side

Allowed: quoting a tagline at yourself. Allowed: “this Chaos bar explains last Saturday.” Not allowed: using red flags as a character assassination kit. Not allowed: deciding someone’s dating life from a result they posted as a joke.

If a type page would hurt if it were read as a diagnosis, do not read it as a diagnosis. Send the disclaimer if the chat starts getting forensic.

Roles the quiz accidentally assigns

GROUP CHAT ORACLE types will archive everyone’s cards. THERAPIST FRIEND types will start interpreting. JESTER types will defuse with a bit. LOYAL FERAL types will defend whoever just got roasted. You can watch the dimensions happen in real time. That is entertaining until the Oracle is unpaid research staff. Give them an out.

Make the content useful after the meme dies

When the screenshots stop, the site should still have pages worth opening: scoring, reading results, dimensions, and type profiles. That is the difference between a one-night quiz and a small reference. If you are the person who dropped the link, drop one guide with it so the chat has somewhere to go besides dunking.
